51 22 436 Replacing Function Carrier (With Roller Sun Blind) On Left Or Right Rear Door

Necessary Preliminary Tasks:

Remove rear function carrier. Refer to 51 22 435 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FUNCTION CARRIER (WITH ROLLER SUN BLIND) ON LEFT OR RIGHT REAR DOOR .
Remove control unit. Refer to 61 35 224 REMOVING AND INSTALLING (REPLACING) CONTROL UNIT FOR LEFT OR RIGHT REAR DOOR .
Remove speaker. Refer to 65 13 090 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING SPEAKER (MID-RANGE SPEAKER, DOOR AT REAR) .
If necessary, remove light module. Refer to 63 99 491 REPLACING LIGHT MODULE FOR REAR LEFT OR RIGHT OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE LIGHTING (UP TO 09/2004) .

Version with roller sun blind:

Remove roller sun blind module. Refer to 51 16 405 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING BLIND AT SIDE WINDOW OF LEFT OR RIGHT REAR DOOR .

Release clip.

Remove Bowden cable.

Press out quick-release couplings.

Installation:

Make sure quick-release couplings are installed in correct position.
