63 99 076 Replacing bulb for left xenon headlight

WARNING: Follow instructions for handling light bulbs (exterior lights). Refer to 63 99 ... INSTRUCTIONS FOR HANDLING LIGHT BULBS (EXTERIOR LIGHTS) .

Necessary Preliminary Tasks:

M54 Only: Remove suction filter housing, Refer to 13 71 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING INTAKE FILTER HOUSING (M54) .

Up To 10/2003:

NOTE: For purposes of clarity, illustration shows component removed.

Release screws (1) and remove protective cap (2).

Installation:

If necessary, replace seal of protective cap (2).

Turn ignition unit plug connection (1) counterclockwise through approx. 45° and disconnect.

Turn snap ring (2) counterclockwise through approx. 45°.

Remove lamp for xenon light.

From 10/2003:

Necessary Preliminary Tasks:

Release ignition unit for left xenon headlight. Refer to 63 12 870 REPLACING IGNITION UNIT FOR LEFT XENON HEADLIGHT (FROM 10/2003) .

Press locking clip (1) and open in direction of arrow.

Remove bulb for xenon headlight (2) in direction of arrow.
