51 47 161 Removing and installing/replacing right trunk wheel arch trim

Remove inside window cavity cover strip for door window, rear right. Refer to 51 37 261 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING WINDOW CAVITY COVER STRIP FOR DOOR WINDOW, REAR LEFT OR RIGHT .

Lever out cover plate (1) in lashing eye.

Unfasten screws (2).

Release expansion rivets (1) and (2).

Disconnect plug connections (1) on both 12 V sockets (2).

Removing right luggage compartment wheel arch trim.

Installation: 

Check catch of socket housing in luggage compartment wheel arch trim.

If necessary, replace 12 V sockets.

Replacing 12 V Sockets: 

Open cover (1) of socket housing.

Turn socket insert (2) approx. 30° to right.

Turn socket insert (2) under tension back into initial position and pull out of socket housing.

Installation: 

Align socket insert (1) with retaining lugs (2) to groove (3) of socket housing and slide in until it is felt snapping into place.

Pull socket housing (1) approx. 5 mm out of wheel arch trim (2) and tilt out to right at bottom.

Installation: 

Insert socket housing with plastic lugs (3) into wheel arch trim and lock with retaining lugs (4).
