65 77 550 Removing and installing/replacing collision sensor for left or right side airbag

WARNING: Note airbag safety instructions! Incorrect handling can activate airbag and cause injury. Refer to BMW (1986-04) .

Turn ignition key to position 0.

Remove entrance cover strip. Refer to 51 47 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING ENTRANCE COVER STRIP (INTERIOR), FRONT LEFT OR RIGHT (Z3 ROADSTER, M ROADSTER, Z3 COUPE, M COUPE) .

Remove driver's seat. Refer to 52 10 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT SEAT (NORMAL/ELECTRIC), LEFT OR RIGHT (Z3 ROADSTER, M ROADSTER, Z3 COUPE, M COUPE) .

Fold back carpet floor in area of driver's seat.

Disconnect plug connection.

Release screws and remove impact sensor for side airbag.

Installation:

Arrow (1) on impact sensor for side airbag must point to sill.

Observe tightening torque, 65 77 2AZ. Refer to 65 77 AIRBAG TRIGGERING CONTROL .
