51 32 154 Adjusting front left or right door window (Z3 roadster)

Remove door trim panel, refer to 51 41 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT LEFT OR RIGHT DOOR TRIM PANEL (Z3 ROADSTER, M ROADSTER, Z3 COUPE, M COUPE) .

Ideal adjustment:

The door window (1) gasket (2) must locate evenly all round (wind noise, water ingress).

Ideal adjustment:

Door window (1) locates flush against A-pillar (2).

Pull off cover.

Installation: 

Replace cover.

Parallelism:

Adjust door window so that it is parallel to the window frame by adjusting the guide rails.

Preload on door window (fixed):

Adjust window guide rail until door window (1) locates flush against the A-pillar (2).

Loosen screw (1) and adjust window guide rail (front).

Preload on door window:

Loosen screw (1) and adjust window guide rail (rear).

Ideal adjustment:

Adjust height of door window (1) until transition from fixed door window (3) to rubber window seal (2) forms a smooth line.

Height of door window is adjusted by turning the screw (1) on the window regulator (2).
