11 00 598 Removing and installing engine on front axle (S63) with GS7D36SG transmission (M6, Dual-clutch transmission)

Special tools required: 

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Screw fixtures (20) onto table lift at a suitable location.

Move screw adapters (30) with plates (80) up against the transmission oil sump (1).

Release screw (1).

Remove retaining clip (2).

Release screw (1).

Loosen the hydraulic lines (2).

Installation note: 

Replace sealing rings.

Recycling: 

Catch and dispose of escaping oil with auxiliary materials.

Detach cable clip (1) from gearbox.

Release screw (2).

Remove pulse sensor for crankshaft sensor (3).

Disconnect connector (4).

Tightening torque 13 62 4AZ .

Unclip transmission wiring harness (1) from holder (2).

Release screws (3) and remove protective plate (4).

Release transmission connector.

Installation note: 

Pay attention to the routing and length of the wiring harness.

Insert special tool 24 2 390 in sealing cup (1).

Release all screws on transmission.

Tightening torque:

Installation note: 

Screws have different lengths.

Note installation position.

Release screws (1).

Tightening torque:

Make sure the rubber seal (2) is fitted correctly when removing and installing the transmission.

Slightly raise engine with workshop crane and special tool 11 0 000 .

This simplifies removal and installation of transmission.

Recycling: 

Capture emerging transmission oil with a suitable drip tray (1).

Disconnect transmission (2) from engine.

Unscrew nuts (1).

Raise engine approx. 10 mm with cross member.

Installation note: 

Replace self-locking nuts.

Tightening torque 22 11 2AZ .

Lift engine from front axle with workshop crane and special tool 11 0 000 .

Mount engine on ASSEMBLY STAND .
