51 16... Removing and installing/replacing cup holder decorative trim

When working on trim panel components, make sure that visible surfaces are not scratched or damaged (e.g. by sharp-edged tools).

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Close the cover cap (3) and protect from scratching (tape off). Then open again.

Set center console cover (2) upside down onto a soft support.

Mounting holes (1) point up.

NOTE: The work step is shown here removed in semi-transparent condition for purposes of clarity.

Slightly pull the decorative trim (2) in direction of arrow. Thereby unlock the attachment tabs (3) with a screwdriver (1) through mounting holes until the decorative trim (2) can be removed.

Installation note: 

Mounting hooks, clip tabs and pins (see arrow) on protective cap (1) and decorative trim (2) must not be damaged.

Replacement 

Protect new decorative trim against scratches (tape off).
