51 16 366 Removing and installing right glove box with housing

When working on trim panel components, make sure that the sensitive surfaces are not scratched or damaged.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove bottom-left TRIM FOR INSTRUMENT PANEL .
Remove side panel on dashboard. See REMOVING SIDE PANEL or REMOVING SIDE PANEL (WITH SWITCH FOR FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG DEACTIVATION) .

Release side (1) and lower screws (2) and (3).

Tightening torque 51 16 16AZ

Open glove box cover (3) if necessary.

Release upper screws (1) on glove box (2).

Tightening torque 51 16 16AZ .

Pull glove box (2) down at a slant until glove box (2) disengages.

Installation note:

Glove box (2) must engage noticeably when it is slid into place.

Disconnect plug connections (1) on damper (3) and glove box light (2).

Slip out glove box and set aside.
