51 21 126 Removing and installing/replacing support for left or right outer door handle without lock barrel

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Disconnect Bowden cable (2) at bottom and top from door lock at front door (3).

Installation note: 

Bowden cable must be correctly engaged in locators in door lock (3).

Bowden cable must be laid without kinks in bend to door lock (3).

Bowden cable seal must be correctly fitted.

IMPORTANT: If Bowden cable (2) is routed incorrectly, door can not be opened from the outside.

Release screw (1) from cover (2).

Remove cover (2).

Installation note: 

Insert rubber seal (3) correctly in guides on door outer skin.

Release retaining screw (1).

Remove plastic guide underneath.

Installation note: 

Correctly insert retaining lug (2) and move to stop.

Turn carrier for door outside handle (1) approx. 90° and feed out below.

Installation note: 

Ensure correct Bowden cable installation position.

Replacement: 

Feed Bowden cable (1) out of carrier (2).

Installation note: 

Make sure Bowden cable (1) is correctly fitted on support (2).
