51 75 010 Removing and installing/replacing left or right steering assembly cover

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove FRONT UNDERBODY PROTECTION

Slacken all screws/snap fasteners.

Tightening torque 51 75 1AZ .

Lever out expanding rivets (1).

Removing steering assembly cover (2).

Installation note:

Replace faulty expanding rivets (1).

Make sure steering assembly cover (2) is correctly seated.

Replacement:

From April 2009 the snap fasteners are discontinued and replaced by a conventional screw connection.
