37 12 090 Removing and installing rear left or right spring strut (EDC)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Detach the plug connection (1) of the EDC damper in the luggage compartment.

Undo the nuts (2) from the damper screw connection.

Installation note: 

Replace self-locking nuts.

Tightening torque 33 52 1AZ .

Release screw (1).

Installation note: 

Replace screw.

Tightening torque 33 52 3AZ

Press wheel carrier (1) down.

First move spring strut (2) down slightly in direction of arrow in front of output shaft. Then, at top of wheel arch, swing down spring strut and remove.

IMPORTANT: Before tightening screw connection, check that spring strut shock absorber pin is correctly positioned in wheel carrier.
