25 11 001 Replacing complete gearshift lever

Necessary preliminary work:

Remove GEARSHIFT LEVER .

Detach mount from gearshift lever.

Installation note:

Grease ball joint.

Grease,

Refer to BMW Service Operating Fluids. See GEAR SHIFT MECHANISM -- OPERATING FLUIDS .

Detach rubber boot from gearshift lever.

Installation note:

Degrease gearshift lever (1).

Coat rubber boot on inside of shaped element (2) with Circolight.

Circolight,

Pull rubber boot from above over gearshift lever and align. Arrow (3) on rubber boot must point in direction of travel (A).
