54 34 331 Removing and installing/replacing cowl panel gasket rail on left or right

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove COWL PANEL GASKET .
Remove FRONT LINKAGE COVER .

WARNING: Soft top becomes pressureless without a warning signal.
For all repair work, secure soft top with a suitable support tool against collapsing.
Ensure soft top is supported in the middle.
Ignition must remain switched off during the repair work.
Failure to comply with this instruction may result in the hydraulic valves incurring preliminary damage.

Undo screw (1) from roof liner.

IMPORTANT: Before undoing nuts, make a note of the number of spacers at the respective bolting point.
Soft top is taught in at the factory.

Release combination nuts (1).

Carefully remove roof frame with spacers.

Installation note:

Roof frame with front gasket must be flush with middle window guide.

Adjust roof frame by means of spacers .

Side windows must run into gasket correctly and rest in gasket over entire width.

Run a function check.

Check setting of door window pane and adjust if necessary. See 51 32 154 ADJUSTING LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SIDE WINDOW .
