41 12 557 Replacing Middle Luggage Compartment Floor (Tail Panel Has Been Removed)

STRIP DOWN VEHICLE

Follow procedure of REPAIR STAGES 2 .

Following new body parts are required (see BMW Electronic Parts Catalogue):

(1) Luggage compartment floor

Following CONSUMABLES are required:

Blind rivets N3	21
EMC screws	7
Cleaning agent R1	1
Sealant D1

Removal of luggage compartment floor:

View from below.

Open spot-welded adhesive joints in area (1)

Remove the luggage compartment floor.

New part preparation:

Fit luggage compartment floor from underneath and adjust in conjunction with tail panel and secure.

In areas (1) to (3), set 4.2 mm dia. holes for blind rivets.

Remove new part and deburr holes.

IMPORTANT: Do not grind new parts and body in area of bonding surfaces.

Installation of luggage compartment floor:

Clean all bonding surfaces with CLEANING AGENT R1 .

Apply adhesive to bonding surfaces.

When installing, make sure that all bonding surfaces have sufficient adhesive.

Install new part and rivet with blind rivets.

After adhesive has hardened, install 7 EMC SCREWS in areas (1) and (2).

Install EMC screws in area (1) from luggage compartment.
