51 16 375 Removing and installing/replacing kinematic unit for glovebox lid

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove LOCK FOR GLOVEBOX LID on left

NOTE: Kinematic unit for glovebox lid consists of reversing lever and damping element with spring.

Close glovebox lid.

E70/71 up to 09/09 only

Release tab washer (1) and remove pin (2).

Release pin (3).

Remove reversing lever (4).

Installation:

Replace tab washer (1) and pin (2).

Release tab washer (1) and remove pin (2).

Release pin (3).

Remove reversing lever (4).

Installation:

Replace tab washer (1) and pin (2).

Contact lug (5) for microswitch must not be damaged or missing.

Open glovebox lid.

Disconnect spring (1).

Release screw (2).

Feed damping element (3) out of holder (4).
