51 16 000 Removing and installing or replacing mirror on left or right front door

Special tools required:

00 9 317

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove COVER ON DOOR HANDLE

Release screw (2).

Tightening torque, 51 41 1AZ.

Partially unclip door trim panel (1) in area of rear view mirror with special tool 00 9 317 .

Partially loosen door window frame cover (3).

Press rubber window seal (4) to one side.

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

NOTE: Secure mirror against falling off.

Press rubber guide (2) to one side and release screws (3).

Tightening torque 51 16 1AZ .

Installation note:

Make sure grommet for plug connection (1) is correctly seated

Replacement:

Due to the thread-tapping screws, the tightening torque of the new mirror is increased by 2 Nm.

Remove mirror (1) outwards.

Installation note:

Run a function check.

Sound insulation (1) must not be damaged.

Replacement:

MODIFY mirror glass
Modify PROTECTIVE CAP ON EXTERIOR MIRROR
