51 16 041 Removing and installing/replacing cover cap on left or right exterior mirror

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove RETAINING RING ON DOOR MIRROR

Fold outside mirror (1) forwards.

Unfasten screws (2).

Pull off cover cap (1) towards rear.

Installation:

Make sure cover cap (1) is correctly seated in areas (A and B).

Fold exterior mirror (1) back.

Lift cover cap (2) downwards over catch (3).

Feed cover cap (2) in direction of arrow out of exterior mirror (1).

NOTE: Cover cap (2) must be bent slightly during removal.

Version with exterior mirror camera (1) only:

Unfasten plug connection (2) and disconnect.
