52 25 410 Replacing backrest cover for left or right rear seat

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Unlock and disconnect plug connection (1) for backrest heating.

Unlock and disconnect plug connection (1) for climate-control mat.

Cut cable straps (1) on left and right.

Installation note: 

Replace faulty cable straps.

Release all clamps in area of climate-control mat (1).

Loosen clamps (1).

Disengage backrest cover at top from metal tabs.

Lever out clips (1).

Installation note: 

Replace faulty clips (1).

Release clamps in marked area (1).

Lever out welt in marked area.

Release clamp (1).

Remove backrest cover with upholstery from backrest frame.

Release clamps in marked area.

Remove backrest cover from upholstery.

Feed climate-control mat out of backrest cover.

Replacement only: 

Pull trim wires out of seat cover.

Installation note: 

Slide trim threads into new seat cover.

If necessary, cut mounting for trim threads.

NOTE: Remove all remnants of clamps from backrest cover, upholstery and backrest frame.

Installation note: 

Bend new clamp (2) 52 0 050 closed with pliers.

  1. Clamp
  2. Upholstery
  3. Trim wire in upholstery
  4. Trim wire in seat cover
  5. Cover

Lever out locking strip of head restraint guide with plastic wedge 00 9 317 .

Installation note: 

Mount straight end face of head restraint guide towards front.
