51 16 282 Removing and installing/replacing left or right lower housing section (up to 07/12)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove PROTECTIVE CAP ON LEFT EXTERIOR MIRROR

Release screws (1).

Pull off lower housing section (2) towards rear.

Installation note:

Make sure lower housing section (2) is correctly seated in area (3).

Version with exterior mirror camera:

Release screw (1) and feed out holder (2).

Installation note:

Small image with view of rear.

Holder (2) must be correctly seated in guides (3).

Fold exterior mirror (1) back.

Lift protective cap (2) downwards over latch mechanism (3).

Feed protective cap (2) in direction of arrow out of exterior mirror (1).

NOTE: Protective cap (2) must be bent slightly during removal.
