37 11 030 Removing and installing front left or right spring strut: Notes

Necessary preliminary work: 

Release collar bolt (1), press brake pedal to floor for this purpose.

Tightening torque 31 60 2AZ .

Installation note: 

Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Disconnect feed line (2) from mounting.

Release nut (1) and remove screw.

Tightening torque 31 12 7AZ .

Release spring strut from wishbone (2).

Installation note: 

Note direction of insertion of screw.

Replace screw and nut.

Tighten in NORMAL POSITION .

Risk of damage! 

Secure output shaft against falling out.

Tripods must not fall into the gaiter

IMPORTANT:

Risk of damage!

Secure spring strut against falling out.

Release screws (1).

Tightening torque 31 31 1AZ .

Installation note: 

Turn mount in clockwise direction and tighten down!

Tightening torque 31 31 1AZ .

With helper, press swivel bearing (1) down until spring strut (2) can be led along wheel arch lower edge. Afterwards, remove complete spring strut (2) upwards.
