33 34 070 Removing and installing/replacing integral active steering

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Lower REAR AXLE SUPPORT .
- REMOVE BOTH TOE LINKS .
IMPORTANT:
Screws (1) must not be released during removal!
Unlock and disconnect plug connections (1) from steering.
Release screw (2) and remove grounding cable.
Tightening torque 33 34 4AZ .
Release screw (1).
Tightening torque 33 34 2AZ .
Undo collar bolts (2).
Tightening torque 33 34 1AZ .
Installation note:
Observe assembly sequence (see Fig 5) to prevent integral active steering from jamming during installation.
Release bolts (1) and remove Integral Active Steering towards bottom.
Tightening torque 33 34 3AZ .
Installation note:
Observe assembly sequence (see Fig 5) to prevent integral active steering from jamming during installation.
IMPORTANT:
Observe assembly sequence.
Fasten screws and nuts on the Integral Active Steering at the rear axle support.
After installation:
- Perform Integral Active Steering start-up using the diagnosis system (service function/steering test).
- Carry out wheel alignment procedure. See ALIGNMENT CHECK WITH VEHICLE LOAD UP TO DESIGN POSITION or ALIGNMENT CHECK WITH RIDE HEIGHT MEASUREMENT WITHOUT VEHICLE LOAD .
