51 13 280 Removing and installing roof frame trim strip on left or right

IMPORTANT: Work must be carried out with a second person assisting (risk of damage).

Trim strip must not be bent and seal must rest correctly on windscreen (wind noises).

First lever out trim strip at rear, then unclip remainder in upward direction and pull at front out of seal.

IMPORTANT: Replace clamps after each removal.

Observe installation location for different clamps.

  1. Clamps, roof frame, T-pin
  2. Clamp, A-pillar, bottom, T-pin
  3. Clamps, A- and C-pillars

Installation note: 

First push trim strip at front into seal, clip in at rear flush with edge and then clip in remainder.

Lock of clamps must not be damaged.

Seal and trim strip must not be damaged. If necessary, replace FAULTY SEAL OR TRIM STRIP .
