51 16 040 Removing and installing/replacing housing on left or right outside mirror (2009-2011; 2012-2015 version 1)

Necessary preliminary work:

Remove RETAINING RING ON EXTERIOR MIRROR
Remove PROTECTIVE CAP ON EXTERIOR MIRROR
Remove MIRROR ADJUSTMENT DRIVE

Release screws (1). Unlock catch (2).

If necessary, disconnect the connector (3) from the Top View camera.

Remove mirror housing lower section in direction of arrow.

Catches (1) and screw holes (2) on housing (3) must not be damaged.

Replacement

For version with Top View camera only:

Move TOP VIEW CAMERA
