51 16 040 Removing and installing/replacing housing on left or right exterior mirror (2012-2015 version 2)

Necessary preliminary work:

Remove RETAINING RING ON EXTERIOR MIRROR
Remove PROTECTIVE CAP ON EXTERIOR MIRROR
Remove MIRROR ADJUSTMENT DRIVE

Release screws (1).

If necessary, disconnect the connector from the top view camera.

Installation note:

Ensure latch mechanism (2) is correctly seated.

The latch mechanisms (2) on the housing (3) must not be damaged or missing.

Carefully loosen screw holes (1) from exterior mirror (2).

Feed out housing (3) downward.

Installation note:

The bore holes (1) on the housing (3) must not be damaged or missing.

Replacement:

Remove the turn indicator (1) from the housing (2) in the direction of the arrow.

For replacements with top view camera equipment specification:

Remount the TOP VIEW CAMERA
