11 23 010 Removing and installing/replacing vibration damper (S62)

Special tools required:

00 9 120
11 0 270

Unscrew and remove splash guard.

Remove fan cowl. Refer to 17 11 031 REPLACING FAN COWL (S62) .

Remove alternator drive belt.

Remove A/C compressor drive belt.

Loosen screws (1). Remove cover and belt pulley.

Attach special tool 11 0 270 to vibration damper.

NOTE: Protect water pump against damage.
Place piece of wood (1) between water pump and special tool 11 0 270.

Loosen screws (2).

NOTE: Washers are fitted under screws (2).

Remove vibration damper.

Installation:

Align locating bore in vibration damper to dowel pin (1).

Installation:

Attach vibration damper and align to dowel pin.

NOTE: Washers are fitted under screws (2).
Replace screws (2).
Attach special tool 11 0 270 to vibration damper.
Place piece of wood (1) between vane pump and special tool 11 0 270.

Installation:

Tighten down screws on vibration damper with special tool 00 9 120.

Tightening torque, 11 23 2AZ. Refer to 11 23 VIBRATION DAMPER .

Installation:

Install screws (1) with cover and belt pulley.

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque, 11 23 3AZ. Refer to 11 23 VIBRATION DAMPER .
