11 14 141 Replacing radial seal in lower timing case cover (S62)

Remove vibration damper, refer to 11 23 010 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING VIBRATION DAMPER (S62) .

Removal: 

Fit special tool 11 2 386 on crankshaft.

Screw on special tool 11 2 380 until it is securely connected to the radial seal.

Remove radial sealing ring by tightening in the screw.

Installation: 

Attach special tool 11 7 231 to sprocket wheel.

Oil sealing lips of new radial seal (1).

Push radial seal (1) onto special tool 11 7 231 until it rests against timing case cover.

Remove special tool 11 7 231.

NOTE: Special tool kit 11 7 210 comprises:
  • Special tool 11 7 211
  • Special tool 11 7 212
  • Special tool 11 7 213
  • Special tool 11 7 214

Screw special tool 11 7 211 with two screws (1) of vibration damper onto sprocket wheel until hand-tight.

Insert special tool 11 7 212 and tighten down by hand.

Place special tool 11 7 214 on radial seal.

Pull in new radial seal with special tool 11 7 213 until it is flush with timing case cover.
