51 16 378 Removing and installing/replacing hinge for upper glovebox lid

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove glovebox, see 51 16 360 Removing and installing right glovebox .
Remove upper glovebox lid, see 51 16 371 Removing and installing/replacing upper glovebox lid .

Close glovebox lid.

Release tab washer (1) and remove pin (2).

Open glovebox lid.

Disconnect spring (3).

Release screw (4).

Feed out damping element (5).

Installation:

Replace tab washer (1) and pin (2).

Release screws (1).

Take off holder (2).

Feed out hinge (3).

Installation:

Spring (1) must not be damaged.

If necessary, pull out shaft (2) and replace faulty bushings (4).

Markings (3) on bushing (4) and hinge must line up.
