51 16 360 Removing and installing right glovebox

When working on trim panel components, make sure that the sensitive surfaces are not scratched or damaged.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove Central Information Display, see 65 50 057 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REPLACING CENTRAL INFORMATION DISPLAY (CID) .
Remove right fresh-air grille, see 64 22 135 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING LEFT FRESH-AIR GRILLE .
Remove insert for glovebox, see 51 16... Removing and installing insert for right glovebox .

Lever out cover (1) and release screw underneath.

Unfasten screws (2 and 3).

Disengage Bowden cable (1) on left and right at lock (2).

Unclip light (4) and disconnect plug connection.

Installation:

Carry out function check on emergency release mechanism.

Pull out glovebox (1) slightly.

Disconnect all plug connections (2) and detach cable from glovebox.

Disengage Bowden cable (3) on left and right at lock (4).

Remove glovebox (1).

Installation:

Engage Bowden cable head (1) before inserting glovebox on left and right.

Feed in spacer (2) after inserting glovebox.
