17 22 010 Removing and installing/replacing transmission fluid cooler for automatic transmission (N63)

Only perform this work after engine has cooled down.
Only perform this work after engine has cooled down.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Follow instructions for working on cooling system on cooling system.
- Drain coolant .
- Remove fan cowl .
Recycling
Catch and dispose of drained coolant in a suitable container.
Transmission fluid emerges when fluid lines are detached from transmission fluid cooler.
Catch and dispose of escaping transmission fluid in a suitable container.
Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations.
Unlock and disconnect coolant hoses (1) and (2).
Release screw (3) and remove lines (4).
Installation:
- Replace sealing rings.
- Tightening torque 17 22 9AZ, see 17 22 ENGINE OIL COOLER LINES AND TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER LINES
Release screws (5).
Tightening torque 17 22 10AZ, see 17 22 ENGINE OIL COOLER LINES AND TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER LINES
Remove transmission fluid cooler (6).
Installation:
Only when replacing transmission fluid cooler, modify thermostat cartridge .
NOTE:
After completing work, check fluid level in automatic transmission, topping up transmission fluid if necessary. See 00 11 237 CHECKING/TOPPING UP FLUID LEVEL IN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION (GA6HP26Z)
