51 47 440 Removing And Installing Or Replacing Rear Carpet On Seat Pan

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove left/right front seat . See SEATS - REPAIR (CONVERTIBLE) .
- Remove rear seat , See SEATS - REPAIR (CONVERTIBLE) .
- Remove handbrake lever . See 34 41 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING / REPLACING HANDBRAKE LEVER (128i) or 34 41... REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING GAITER FOR HANDBRAKE LEVER .
- Remove airbag control unit . See 65 77 016 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING AIRBAG CONTROL UNIT .
- Remove inner entrance cover strips .
Version with central bass speaker:
- Remove central bass speaker trim on left/right. See SPEAKER AND COVER .
Lever out protective cap (1) on left/right.
Loosen left/right screw (2).
Tightening torque, see 72 11 05AZ in 72 11 SEAT BELTS and 72 11 SEAT BELTS .
Installation:
Check that spacer bushing (3) and rubber ring (4) are in correct position.
Pull back cable (1) with cable holder (2).
If necessary, release side trim panel lower section in lower covered area.
Feed out carpet (3) and remove.
Installation:
Make sure openings for air duct and attachment points are correctly positioned.
