51 47 440 Removing and installing/replacing rear carpet on seat pan

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove both front seats . See SEATS - REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS .
- Remove rear seat . See SEATS - REPAIR INSTRUCTIONS .
- Remove both panels for door pillars
- Remove both rear inner entrance cover strips
- Remove handbrake lever . See 34 41 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING / REPLACING HANDBRAKE LEVER
Version with central bass speaker:
- Remove both central bass speaker trims . See 65 12 050 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING LEFT OR RIGHT CENTRAL BASS SPEAKER (UNDER FRONT SEAT) .
Build date from 09/2005:
- Remove airbag control unit . See 65 77 016 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING AIRBAG CONTROL UNIT (BUILD DATE FROM 09/2005) .
Build date up to 08/2005:
If necessary, disconnect plug connections from air duct (1).
Remove air duct (1).
Lay back cable (2) and feed out carpet (3) towards rear/top.
Installation:
Make sure that handbrake Bowden cable, apertures for air guides and attachment points are correctly positioned.
