72 11 041 Removing and installing/replacing front left or right lower belt fitting (seat belt tensioner) (coupe)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove front seat

WARNING: Read and comply with safety regulations for handling airbag modules and pyrotechnical belt tensioners.

Improper handling can lead to triggering of the pyrotechnical seat belt tensioner or side airbag, resulting in injuries.

Switch off ignition!

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Unlock plug connection (3) and pull all plugs out of plug housing (2).

Disconnect all cable straps.

Removing wiring harness.

Installation:

Replace cable straps
Wires must not be under tension
Plugs are coded and must be reinstalled in the correct sequence in the plug housing

Release screw (1).

For tightening torque refer to 72 11 06AZ in 72 11 SEAT BELTS .

Remove belt tensioner (3).

Installation:

Belt tensioner (3) is secured through recess (2) to retaining bracket.
