67 31 501 Removing and installing/replacing forward/back seat adjustment drive unit (convertible)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove FRONT SEAT

Release screws (1).

Release screws (1).

Unlock plug connections (2) and (3) and disconnect.

Carefully bend long flex shaft with jacket tube and pull out of gearing.

Pull short flex shaft including carrier plate out of gearing.

Feed out carrier plate with drive unit.

Installation note:

Slide short flex shaft (1) into longitudinal seat adjustment gearing square.

Bend long flex shaft (2) upwards and slide into longitudinal seat adjustment gearing.

Make sure flex shafts are correctly seated in transmissions.

Installation note:

PTFE hoses are shrink-fitted onto end pieces.

Check that hoses are free from damage.
