51 24 004 Adjusting rear lid lock (convertible): Notes

Prerequisite:

Rear lid must be correctly adjusted to fit; if necessary, adjust REAR LID .

For ideal adjustment, refer to BODY GAP DIMENSIONS .

NOTE: The operation is shown on the left side; proceed in the same way for the right side.

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove trim for support tube:
Release clips (1).

Feed out panel (2) in direction of arrow.

Installation:

If necessary, replace faulty clips (1).

Slacken screws (1) until striker (3) can be moved.

Slide striker (3) in direction of arrow.

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque: 10 Nm

Check alignment of rear lid and striker, readjust if necessary.

If necessary, remove shims (2) or insert additional.
