51 43 002 Removing and installing rear left or right side trim panel

Necessary Preliminary Tasks: 

• Remove rear seat. Refer to 52 26 005 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING REAR SEAT .
• Remove backrest for rear seat. Refer to 52 26 015 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR LEFT OR RIGHT REAR SEAT BACKREST .
• Remove CD changer. Refer to 65 11 070 REMOVING AND INSTALLING / REPLACING CD-CHANGER .
• Remove top trim from tail panel. Refer to 51 46 050 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING TOP TRIM ON TAIL PANEL .
• Remove luggage compartment floor trim panel. Refer to 51 47 101 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR TRIM PANEL .
• Remove luggage compartment light. Refer to 63 31 080 REMOVING/INSTALLING REPLACING LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT LIGHT .

Unlock catches (1) and remove cover.

Release screw (2).

Version without CD changer: 

Release screws (3).

Lever out trim on striker for backrest lock.

Unclip trim panel and remove.

Remove and discard retainers (1).

Installation: 

If necessary, replace faulty clips and retainers.

Fit seal for door and rear lids correctly.
