Instrument Cluster Self-Test

To enter the instrument cluster self-test press E/M and SELECT buttons simultaneously while turning the ignition switch from OFF to ON. If the instrument cluster flashes on and off continuously, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. For additional information, refer to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER .

If the instrument cluster displays:

only the top and bottom two coolant temperature gauge display bars, diagnose the coolant temperature gauge system.
only the top and bottom two fuel gauge display bars, diagnose the fuel gauge system.
only the bottom engine temperature gauge display bar, diagnose the engine temperature gauge system.
CS or CO, diagnose the fuel level sender input circuitry.
error in the odometer display, diagnose the speedometer/odometer circuitry.
