Test O: Anti-Lock Brake System Warning Indicator Always On
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) control module 31-pin harness connector C249. ABS control module is located below brake master cylinder. Turn ignition switch to RUN position, and observe ABS warning indicator. If ABS warning indicator illuminates, go to next step. If ABS warning indicator does not illuminate, repair ABS concern. See appropriate ANTI-LOCK article in BRAKES.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect instrument cluster 12-pin harness connector C266a. Measure resistance between ground and instrument cluster harness connector C266a terminal No. 5 (White/Black wire). See Figure. If resistance is 10 k/ohms or more, go to next step. If resistance is less than 10 k/ohms, repair short to ground in White/Black wire between instrument cluster and ABS control module.
- Disconnect all instrument cluster harness connectors. Inspect for corroded or pushed out pins. Connect all instrument cluster harness connectors. Operate system and verify if concern still exists. If concern still exists, replace instrument cluster. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION . If concern does not exist, system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector.
