Bulb Check Relay

  1. Remove bulb check relay from Central Junction Box (CJB). CJB is located near left front side of engine compartment. Check bulb check relay continuity. Continuity should exist between bulb check relay terminals No. 3 and 5. See Fig 1. If continuity is as specified, go to next step. If continuity is not as specified, replace bulb check relay.
  2. Using a jumper wire, apply battery voltage to bulb check relay terminals No. 1 and 3. Using a second jumper wire, ground bulb check relay terminal No. 2. Measure voltage between bulb check relay terminals No. 2 and 5. If voltage exists, go to next step. If voltage does not exist, replace bulb check relay.
  3. Disconnect jumper wire from bulb check relay terminal No. 1. Measure voltage between bulb check relay terminals No. 2 and 5. If voltage exists, bulb check relay is okay. If voltage does not exist, replace bulb check relay.
