Test U: High Beam Warning Never/Always On
- Check high beam operation. Turn the headlamps on. Operate the high beams. Do the high beams operate properly? If yes, go to next step. If no, diagnose problem in headlight circuit.
- Check high beam indicator miniature bulb. Turn key OFF. Remove the instrument cluster. INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove the high beam indicator miniature bulb. Measure the continuity between the terminals of the high beam indicator miniature bulb. Does continuity exist? If yes, go to next step. If no, replace the high beam indicator miniature bulb.
- Check high beam input to instrument cluster. Turn key OFF. Locate and disconnect the instrument cluster connector C266. Headlamps on. High beams on. Measure the voltage on the Orange/Blue wire at the instrument cluster connector C266. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? If yes, replace the instrument cluster printed circuit. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER PRINTED CIRCUIT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If no, repair Orange/Blue wire.
