D3: Check For Shorts Between The Message Center Control Assembly (MCCA) Switch & The Instrument Cluster

With the ignition key in the OFF position, disconnect the MCCA. Measure the resistance of the wire(s) between the MCCA and the instrument cluster connector that did not pass step D2: CHECK WIRES BETWEEN MESSAGE CENTER CONTROL ASSEMBLY (MCCA) SWITCH MODULE & INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  . Measure the resistance of the wire(s) and ground. Is the resistance less than 5 ohms between the MCCA connector and the instrument cluster, and greater than 10,000 ohms between the wire(s) and ground? If yes, replace the MCCA. If no, service the wire that did not pass this step.
