A3: Check For Shorts To Ground

With the ignition key in the OFF position, remove the 20A (CIGAR LIGHTER) fuse. Disconnect the cigar lighter connector Brown wire located in the instrument panel ash receptacle. Measure the resistance of the Brown/Yellow wire between the left terminal of the 20A CIGAR LIGHTER fuse and ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Is the resistance less than 10,000 ohms? If yes, service the Brown/Yellow wire and/or Brown wire between the interior fuse junction panel and cigar lighter, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If no, replace the 20A (CIGAR LIGHTER) fuse, and go to the next step.
