Analog Instrument Panels: Operation: Tachometer

The tachometer is located in the instrument cluster to the left of the speedometer. The tachometer reads from 0 to 8000 RPM. An engine speed (RPM) signal is generated by the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor and is sent to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The PCM then provides a signal to the tachometer.
