Charging System Warning
The charging system indicator is located in the instrument cluster. This indicator is represented by a battery symbol which glows when there is no generator output current or if the generator output is too high. See Fig 1 . When the ignition switch contacts are closed (ignition switch turned ON), battery current turns on the charging system indicator. When the generator (GEN) builds up enough voltage to energize an electrical circuit in the voltage regulator (VR), the charging system indicator goes out.
