Information And Message Center: Notes

The message center display is a green vacuum fluorescent, fixed format, 2-line display integrated into the center of the instrument cluster (IC) and is controlled by the message center switches. There are two basic instrument cluster (IC)/message center configurations. The first is the full function message center and can be identified by the three button message center switch located in the instrument cluster (IC) finish panel. The second is the base cluster message center and can be identified by the single reset button located in the instrument cluster (IC). Both instrument cluster (IC) configurations display messages based upon vehicle option content.

The base cluster message center functions and menus listed below can be selected through the select/reset button by pressing and releasing the select/reset button to scroll through the menu items. The INFO items (trip A, trip B and average fuel economy) can be reset by holding the select/reset button for approximately 2 seconds. The SETUP items, (language, system configurable items such as autolamps or auto lock) can be reset by holding the select/reset button for approximately 2 seconds when the selected menu item is displayed.
