Install

	Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

	Remove
1	Remove rear axle.		AR35.10-P-0010S
2	Connect hollow cylinder (3.5) using hydraulic hose to hand pump.	Hand pump	Fig 2

3	Install spindle (3.1) with nut (3.6), as shown, into hollow cylinder (3.5).	The following parts from the extraction and insertion tool are required: Spindle (3.1) 223 589 02 43 11 Nut (3.6) 223 589 02 43 12 Hollow cylinder	Fig 3

4	Position sleeve (3.3) and thrust piece C (3.4) onto hollow cylinder (3.5).	The following parts from the extraction and insertion tool are required: Sleeve (3.3) 223 589 02 43 09 Thrust piece C (3.4) 223 589 02 43 03 Hollow cylinder	Fig 3

5	Position hollow cylinder (3.5) with detachable parts from below onto elastomer bearing (1), and screw counterholder C (3.2) flush onto spindle (3.1) from above.	The following part from the extraction and insertion tool is required: Counterholder C (3.2) 223 589 02 43 07 Hollow cylinder	Fig 3

6	Secure hollow cylinder (3.5) using retaining belt against falling down.	Securing belt	Fig 4
7	Align extraction and insertion tool, and press elastomer bearing (1) out of rear axle carrier (2).
8	Unscrew counterholder C (3.2), remove extraction and insertion tool, and detach sleeve (3.3), thrust piece C (3.4), spindle (3.1) and nut (3.6) from hollow cylinder (3.5).
	Install
9	Clean bearing seat on rear axle carrier (2).
10	Coat elastomer bearing (1) with insertion agent.	Mobil Vacuoline 137 insertion agent, 0.5 L	*BR00.45-Z-1097-06A
11	Install spindle (3.1) with nut (3.6), as shown, into hollow cylinder (3.5).	The following parts from the extraction and insertion tool are required: Spindle (3.1) 223 589 02 43 11 Nut (3.6) 223 589 02 43 12 Hollow cylinder	Fig 3

13	Position hollow cylinder (3.5) with detachable parts from below and elastomer bearing (1) on rear axle carrier (2) from above. Then screw thrust piece D (3.7) flush onto spindle (3.1) from above	The arrow (1.1) at the top on the elastomer bearing (1) must point in the direction of travel. 14	Secure hollow cylinder (3.5) using retaining belt against falling down.	Securing belt	Fig 4
15	Align extraction and insertion tool, and press elastomer bearing (1) into rear axle carrier (2).
16	Remove extraction and insertion tool and remove sleeve (3.3), spindle (3.1) and nut (3.6).
17	Disassemble hollow cylinder (3.5), hydraulic hose and hand pump.
