| 1 | Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m). | ||
| 2 | Remove the cover (6). | Model 223 with code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) |

| 4 | Remove screws (3). | ||
| 5 | Starting from the bottom, unclip door trim (1) and remove from sealing rail. | Do not subject the entire width of the door trim (1) in the area above the door handle to tension and compression. Otherwise, the ambient lighting might be damaged. |

Ensure that the retaining clips are seated correctly on the door trim (1). They will be damaged otherwise. |

| 6 | Lift door trim (1) until electrical wiring harness (5) and wire (4) can be accessed. | ||
| 7 | Detach wire (4) of inside door opener. | ||
| 8 | Disconnect electrical wiring harness (5) from rear door control unit. | ||
| 9 | Remove door trim (1). | ||
| Check | |||
| 10 | Check retaining clips of the door trim (1) for damage. | If there is a problem: ↓ replace corresponding retaining clip. |

| 11 | Install in the reverse order. |
