INSPECT Check     
1 Check gap dimensions on front door (1) all the way round.   AR60.00-P-0900-01S
    NOTES Always perform adjustment work on uneven gaps on corresponding upper and lower hinge leaves.
Otherwise tension and damage can occur.

2 Check transition between front fender and front door (1). IMPORTANT Contour of front fender must align with contour of front door (1) or project by a maximum of 1 mm.  
3 Check transition between front door (1) and rear door. IMPORTANT Contour of front door (1) must align with contour of rear door or project by a maximum of 1 mm.  
REMOVING Remove     
4 Glue on adhesive strips (14) and cut in center of door joint. IMPORTANT Adhesive strips (14) serves as orientation when adjusting  
5 Mark installation position of lock striker (13).    
6 Unscrew screws (12) and remove lock striker (13).    
7 Mark installation position of wedge-type stop (2).    
8 Unscrew screws (3) and remove wedge-type stop (2).    
9 Support front door (1) with the lifting device.    
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 38 80 00 Holding device   WS72.00-P-0039B 
    NOTES Do not support front door (1) at outer paneling.
Otherwise the front door (1) can be damaged by its high dead weight.
 
  Adjust     
10 Loosen screws (15, 16) on A-pillar.    
11 Adjust gap dimensions on front door (1) by moving and/or lifting or lowering the lifting device.

12 Tighten screws (15, 16). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, hinge to body *BA72.10-P-1006-01BA 
13 Remove lifting device.    
14 Loosen screws (17) on upper door side hinge leaf (18) and adjust transition between front door (1) IMPORTANT Contour of front fender must align with contour of front door (1) or project by a maximum of 1 mm.  
15 Loosen screws (19) on lower door side hinge leaf (20) and adjust transition between front door (1) and front fender by moving front door (1). IMPORTANT Contour of front fender must align with contour of front door (1) or project by a maximum of 1 mm.  
16 Tighten screws (17, 19). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, hinge to front door *BA72.10-P-1005-01BA 
17 Position lock striker (13) on the marking applied and screw in screws (12) up to end stop. IMPORTANT It should still be possible to adjust the lock striker (13).  
18 Adjust transition between front door (1), rear door and roof paneling by moving lock striker (13). IMPORTANT Contour of front door (3) must align with contour of rear door or may protrude by a maximum of 1 mm.  
19 Tighten bolts (12). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, lock striker to B-pillar *BA72.10-P-1013-01BA 
INSTALLING Install     
20 Position wedge-type stop (2) on the marking applied and position the screws on the wedge-type stop (2). IMPORTANT It should still be possible to adjust the wedge-type stop (2).  
21 Carefully close and open front door (1). IMPORTANT In this way, the wedge-type stop (2) is positioned on the pillar according to the door side wedge-type stop.  
22 Move the wedge-type stop on the B-pillar (2) approx. 1 mm upward and tighten screws. IMPORTANT By doing this, the front door (1) is supported by the wedge-type stop (2) so that its entire dead weight does not rest on the lock striker (13). The front door (1) should be easy to close.  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, wedge-type stop to body *BA72.10-P-1015-01BA 
23 Repair paint damage to screw heads in working area with suitable touch-up paint pen.    
24 Protect front door (1) and A-pillar in area of both hinges against corrosion. Wax for engine compartment (400 ml spray can) *BR00.45-Z-1018-05A 
  Calibrate     
25.1 Calibrate 360° camera on left outside mirror or 360° camera on right outside mirror with diagnostic system. Model 223
with code 501 (360° camera)
with code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection
version)
If the front door (1) has been adjusted on driver and passenger side.

25.2 Calibrate all the cameras in the 360° camera system using the diagnostic system. Model 223
with code 501 (360° camera)

    If the front door (1) has been adjusted on driver and passenger side.
