General
Depending on the design version, the trunk lid/tailgate control drive unit (1) is either installed in the area of the D-pillar on the roof frame or instead of one of the two pneumatic springs.
For vehicles with a large and thus comparatively heavy liftgate, two liftgate control drive units are installed instead of the pneumatic springs.
Special design considerations can also lead to two liftgate control drive units being required instead of the pneumatic springs.
Function
The trunk lid/tailgate control drive unit (1) moves the trunk lid or tailgate.
The following component parts are integrated in the trunk lid/tailgate control drive unit (1):
- Trunk lid/liftgate control Hall sensor (position monitoring)
- Trunk lid/liftgate control electric motor (drive)
