3 Put down complete wheel with valve on top. After using the TIREFIT tire sealant.
4.1 Remove valve element slowly from valve body (3). After using the TIREFIT tire sealant.
IMPORTANT To prevent uncontrolled spraying of the tire sealant and to release pressure from the wheel and tire assembly.
IMPORTANT Use a dry cloth to catch tire sealant.

4.2 Remove valve element from valve body (3). If no TIREFIT tire sealant has been used.
5 Drain TIREFIT tire sealant from tire. After using the TIREFIT tire sealant.
      AR40.10-P-1031-01MFA
6 Position bead breaker shovel of tire mounting device on tire bead flank.
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 01 83 00 Tire mounting device   WS40.00-P-0077B
NOTES Do not position bead breaker shovel on tire sidewall.
The carcass can be damaged otherwise.
NOTES
Do not position bead breaker shovel on the inner or outer side of the tire in the area of the valve body (3) or opposite the valve. The tire pressure sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4) may be damaged otherwise.

7 Press the inner and outer bead flank over the safety bead seats into drop center of disk wheel.
8 Fasten disk wheel on tire mounting device.
9 Apply coating of assembly paste to shoulder of disk wheel and to tire beads. NOTES
Do not apply assembly paste to the tire pressure sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4).
Otherwise, the tire pressure sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4) may malfunction.

10 Position disk wheel on tire mounting device such that the valve, as seen in direction of rotation of the disk wheel, is located 10 cm behind the mounting head.
11 Align mounting head at small distances (X, Y) to disk wheel.
12.1 Use assembly lever to lever tire beads over mounting lug of mounting head and detach tire from disk wheel. For tires without emergency running characteristics.
NOTES
Do not exert any force on the tire pressure sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4). Otherwise it will be damaged.

12.2 Position hold-down tool on upper side of bead flank and push tire into the drop center, then position hold-down tool on underside and detach tire. For run-flat tires.
    NOTES
Do not exert any force on the tire pressure sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4). Otherwise it will be damaged.

13 Clean tire pressure sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4) using a clean, lint-free cloth. NOTES
Do not use compressed air; use a solvent or cleaner.
Otherwise damage can occur to the tire pressure sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4).
IMPORTANT The tire pressure sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4) can also be reused after the TIREFIT tire repair kit has been used. If there is residue remaining on the diaphragm opening after cleaning,

replace tire pressure sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4).

INSPECT Check
14 Check condition of disk wheel.   AR40.10-P-1010-01A
15 Check tire pressure sensors (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4) and valve bodies (3) in installed condition for damage. NOTES
Do not retighten valve nut (2).
Otherwise, the tire pressure sensors (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4) will be damaged.
NOTES
Only use plastic valve caps. Otherwise corrosion damage may occur. If the valve nut (2) or the tire pressure sensors (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4) are loose or the tire pressure sensors (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4) are damaged.

Replace tire pressure sensors (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4).

  Attach
16 Replace valve. IMPORTANT Use valves with valve elements made from nickel-plated brass only.
17 Apply assembly paste to shoulders of disk wheel and tire beads of new tire. NOTES
Do not grease the tire pressure sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4).
Otherwise it can lead the tire pressure sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4) to malfunction.

18 Position disk wheel on tire mounting device such that the valve body (3) is at an angle of 180° to the mounting head.
REFER TO SPECIAL TOOLS 000 588 01 83 00 Tire mounting device   WS40.00-P-0077B
19 Place new tire at an angle on disk wheel and align mounting head at small distances to disk wheel. IMPORTANT Observe running direction on unidirectional tires.
Observe the markings indicating the inside and outside of the tire.
On vehicles with mixed tires observe the correct assignment of the tire to disk wheel.

20.1 Mount tire onto disk wheel with tire mounting device. For tires without emergency running characteristics.
NOTES
Do not exert any force on the tire pressure sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4). Otherwise it will be damaged.
IMPORTANT Load the tire beads as little as possible.

20.2 Push tire with the hold-down tool on the bead flank into the drop center, position bead protector at the traction point and mount tire onto disk wheel. For run-flat tires.
    NOTES
Do not exert any force on the tire pressure sensor (A69/1, A69/2, A69/3, A69/4). Otherwise it will be damaged.
IMPORTANT Load the tire beads as little as possible.

21 Align light spots of tire and disk wheel with each other.
22 Remove disk wheel with tire from tire mounting device.
23 Remove valve element from valve body (3).
24 Inflate tire. NOTES
The tire pressure may not exceed 3.3 bar. Otherwise the tire bead may be damaged.
IMPORTANT The tire bead must slip uniformly over the rim shoulder.

25 Screw valve element into valve.
26 Correct tire inflation pressure.
