	Remove
1	Detach brake light switch.	Do not disconnect electrical connector. Position brake light switch outside working area.	AR42.10-D-0042TS
2	Detach ball socket cage (3) from brake pedal (2).	To do this, position knock-out tool (5) at brake pedal (2). Tighten knock-out tool (5) until ball socket cage (3) breaks. Then detach knock-out tool (5). Press-out tool	Fig 1
3	Detach brake booster from firewall.	To do so, remove nuts (7).
4	Remove ball socket cage (3).	To do this, pry ball socket cage (3) out of brake pedal (2) using a suitable tool. Detach ball socket cage (3) from push rod (4). Dispose of ball socket cage (3) and ball socke (8).
5	Remove nuts (6).
6	Remove pedal bracket (1).
	Install
7	Install pedal bracket (1).	To do so, attach nuts (6). Nut, brake pedal bracket to firewall	*BA29.10-N-1001-02TS
8	Install new ball socket (8) in new ball socket cage (3).	To do so, press ball socket (8) at side into ball socket cage (3) (arrow) until the ball socket (8) is positioned centrally between the catch points.
	Risk of injury  . Moving parts can pinch, crush or, in extreme cases even sever extremities.	No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area of mechanical components when moving components.	AS00.00-Z-0009-01A
9	Install new ball socket cage (3) in brake pedal (2).	Make sure that the ball socket cage (3) is seated correctly in the brake pedal (2).
10	Check seal of brake booster on firewall for damage. Notes on externally invisible brake fluid loss	If damage is found, ↓ Replace seal.	AH42.10-P-9406-02A
11	Attach brake booster to firewall.	To do so, attach nuts (7). Nut, brake booster to firewall	*BA43.10-N-1001-01TS
12	Positively connect ball socket cage (3) with push rod (4).	To do this, carefully press the brake pedal (2) with ball socket cage (3) against the push rod (4) until the push rod (4) engages in the ball socket cage (3). Check that the push rod (4) is correctly positioned in the ball socket cage (3).
13	Attach brake light switch.		AR42.10-D-0042TS
